Already missing Ashes-winning spearheads Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc in addition to James Pattinson, the tourists were also without young Queensland quick Billy Stanlake in Saturday's 39-run one-day loss in Cardiff.
The giant paceman, who was the pick of the attack in last Wednesday's three-wicket defeat at The Oval, was sidelined by a toe injury.
It left AJ Tye, Kane RIchardson and Jhye RIchardson - who boast 25 caps between them - to carry the burden of bowling out a powerful batting unit who racked up a mammoth score of 8-342.
"We're missing some world-class bowlers, no doubt, but the bowling group we've got are very good bowlers in their own right," Marsh said.
"They know they probably got away from us a little bit today and we'll back them in for the next game to get the job done."
Stanlake lost the big toenail on his landing foot following his exertions at The Oval and there is some doubt about whether he'll be fit to play at Trent Bridge.
"Hopefully Bill will be right for the next game. I thought he was terrific in the first game and adds that real pace for us," Marsh said.
The 33-year-old Marsh's majestic 131 was his first ODI ton since 2013.
However, the West Australian said he took little satisfaction from his innings following the defeat which left the world champions 2-0 down in the five-game series.
"It was bittersweet," Marsh said.
"It was nice to get a few runs but obviously disappointed with the result that we couldn't quite finish it off there at the end.
"We know we need to improve a fair bit to get that win. We're heading in the right direction but we still need lots of improvement and hopefully we can see that in a few day's time and try and get back into this series.
"We need to regroup over the next few days and work on the areas we need to work on and hopefully put in an all-round performance at Trent Bridge"
Skipper Tim Paine received stitches inside and outside his mouth after being hit in the face by a ball delivered by Tye.
A slower ball bowled by the West Australian doubled bounced in front of Paine and rose sharply to smash him in the face.
Paine didn't lose any teeth in the incident and Cricket Australia officials are confident he will be fit to play at Nottingham on Tuesday.
