There's little more Shaun Marsh could have done over the past six weeks to convince selectors he is ready for a Test recall.
Marsh was a touch unlucky to be dropped for the Ashes opener, having played both Tests in the West Indies due to Chris Rogers' concussion.
The Western Australian has done everything asked of him since.
Marsh has played two matches on the tour of England, scoring tons in both of them.
Selectors will be unsure whether to drop Adam Voges for the fourth Test, which starts at Trent Bridge on Thursday.
But there is no question over Voges' replacement, should Rod Marsh and Darren Lehmann opt for change.
"He's just clicked as a batter, he's become a run-scorer," batting coach Michael Di Venuto said.
"People can have the potential and have the outstanding talent, but it doesn't necessarily mean they're a run-scorer.
"Shaun's just got to the stage where he's really comfortable with his game and he knows how to score runs, and now he's turning it into hundreds.
"There's someone who's ready to go."
Marsh scored 114 against Kent in Australia's opening match on tour then backed it up with a knock of 101 in Derby prior to the third Test.
It was the 32-year-old's first taste of English first-class cricket.
Marsh has played 14 Tests, but rarely looked quite so confident and comfortable out in the middle.
"He was probably unlucky to miss out at the start of this tour but that's the way the selectors go," Di Venuto said.
"The pleasing thing from my point of view is that every time he's had an opportunity here in tour games he's scored runs.
"He's showed that he's in form. He's working hard in the nets ... and working hard on his game."
Di Venuto noted Voges had also made a similar transition recently.
"In the last couple of years in his Shield cricket, it's just clicked for him and he's become a big run-scorer," he said.
"Those two are certainly turning into good run scorers."
