Irishman Dan Martin broke through for his first ever stage win after surviving a breakaway and a sprint finish on the 168-point-five kilometre stage through the Pyrenees mountains to Bagneres-de-Bigorre.

 

Overall leader Froome didn't lose any time on his challengers, managing to finish in the main bunch, but as S-B-S ycling commentator David McKenzie told Murray Silby, it was the fragility of his Sky team that surprised.
