Irishman Daniel Martin has held off a chasing pack which included Alberto Contador to win stage three of the Volta a Catalunya and seize the overall race lead.
Etixx-QuickStep rider Martin pipped Contador, Romain Bardet and American Tejay van Garderen to win the stage, with van Garderen's Australian BMC Racing teammate Richie Porte coming in fifth nine seconds behind the winner.
Martin now has a six-second lead on Contador, with Porte in sixth 19 seconds back heading into Thursday's fourth stage from Baga to Port Aine.
