Martin wins Hollywood award for Gatsby

Catherine Martin has won her second Arts Directors Guild award for production design for her work on The Great Gatsby.

After cleaning up at the AACTA awards last month, Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby has picked up another award with Catherine Martin winning a gong for production design.

Luhrmann's costume designer was awarded an Art Directors Guild award in Los Angeles at the weekend for her work on the period film.

It's Martin's second ADG Award. She previously won for Moulin Rouge.

The annual Art Directors Guild's Excellence in Production Design Awards at the Beverly Hilton on Saturday.

The Great Gatsby took out best film, best direction and best adapted screenplay at the AACTA awards held in Sydney on January 30.

Leonardo DiCaprio won best lead actor for his role as Jay Gatsby while Joel Edgerton, who played Tom Buchanan in the film, and Elizabeth Deicki took out best supporting actor and actress.

Martin is nominated for an Oscar for best costume design for The Great Gatsby. The 86th Academy Awards will be held on March 2.
