Match a tribute to Paris attack victim

An under-21 match between France and Italy to be played in Venice on June 2 will be dedicated to a victim of last year's November 13 attacks in Paris.

Italy will host France in a friendly at the under-21 level on June 2 in honour of Valeria Solesin, who died in the Paris attacks.

Solesin, who had been living in Paris for six years and studied at the Sorbonne, was among those killed inside the Bataclan Theatre in Paris. She was 28.

The general director of the Italian football federation, Michele Uva, says: "It will be a day dedicated to the memory of Valeria Solesin. We asked France to play this match, in memory of the night of the attacks in Paris."

Solesin was one of 130 people killed in Paris on November 13. A further 350 people were wounded.

The match will be held in Solesin's home city of Venice.
