Australia's women's soccer team will open their defence of the Asian Cup by meeting world champions Japan.
In a tough draw, the Matildas have also been grouped with host nation Vietnam and Jordan for the Asian Cup in May next year.
Australia, who won the cup in 2010, meet Japan in their tournament opener.
"It's a very exciting group with the holders of the Asian cup, the world champions and the host all in one group," Matildas coach Hesterine de Reus said on Friday, after the tournament draw.
"I think we have a good draw, playing Japan first, and after that Vietnam and Jordan.
"I'm happy with having Japan first as the strongest team, so we will be totally fit and ready for the start of the tournament.
"After that, we have two teams which, on paper, we are the better side. But at the top level easy matches do not exist anymore and they will not be easy opponents."
The four semi-finalists, and the fifth-placed nation, qualify for the 2015 World Cup in Canada.
Australia and Japan qualified automatically for the Asian Cup, having finished in the top four of the 2010 tournament.
The Matildas defeated Japan 1-0 in the semi-final before taking the crown with a penalty shoot-out victory against Korea DPR in the final.
Australia have played Japan, who won the 2011 World Cup in Germany, 20 times for five wins, with the Japanese winning eight and the rest drawn.
The Matildas beat Vietnam on both occasions they met but have yet to face Jordan at a full international.
