Matt Ryan faces ban over high tackle

Australian Matt Ryan faces a one or two-match ban over a high tackle during his English super League side Wakefield's game against Hull.

Australian Matt Ryan is set to miss his English Super League side Wakefield's Ladbrokes Challenge Cup sixth-round tie with Leigh through suspension.

The Wildcats' second rower has been charged by the Rugby Football League's match-review panel with a high tackle on Hull KR fullback Ben Cockayne during his side's 54-6 Super League defeat last Thursday.

Ryan has until 11am on Tuesday to submit an early-guilty plea to the grade B charge, which carries a ban of one or two matches, or fight it at a hearing later in the day.
