Carlton have delisted first-round draft pick Matthew Watson, who managed only 23 senior games in five seasons.

The key-position player was selected by the Blues with pick 18 in the 2010 national draft, but was never able to lock down a regular spot at AFL level.

The 23-year-old Watson, Cameron Giles and rookies Blaine Johnson and Fraser Russell were all delisted on Friday.

With Chris Judd, Andrew Carrazzo and David Ellard all retiring and Lachie Henderson and Chris Yarran likely to be traded to other clubs, the Blues will undergo a significant overhaul of their list during the off-season.
