Matuidi commits to PSG until 2018

French midfielder Blaise Matuidi will play for Paris Saint-Germain until 2018, after signing a contract extension.

French midfielder Blaise Matuidi has committed his future to Paris Saint-Germain until 2018, the club announced on Wednesday.

Matuidi, 26, who joined the club from St Etienne in 2011, could have left as a free agent at the end of the season but has signed a four-year contract extension.

Media reports in France had linked him with a move to English Premier League club Manchester City.
