Max Mara unveils cosy collection

Luxury Italian fashion house Max Mara has created a range of cosy-looking outfits for its latest range unveiled in Milan.

Max Mara has unveiled its warm Autumn/Winter 14 collection during Milan Fashion Week.

The luxury Italian fashion house, established in 1951 by Achille Maramotti, has created a range of cosy-looking outfits for its latest range.

Wool was the main material used for the designs, such as a midi skirt with light grey, brown and dark grey blocks and an oversized chocolate-coloured jumper.

Coats were one of the heavily featured items on the runway. Creative director Ian Griffiths presented lots of choices, from a camel double-faced belted wrap coat to a long dark faux fur number.

Some of the hoods featured faux fur rims to give a fluffy and snug finish.

However, there were also some dressier pieces worn on the runway. Metallics added a glamorous touch to the collection. One outfit in particular - a gold snakeskin-patterned top and bronze skirt - dazzled as the model strutted down the white platform. To top off the outfit she also wore gold ankle boots to match the top.

Leather and PVC were other materials used to give an edge to Ian's designs. Underneath the camel coat the blonde model wore a black PVC shirt, while another rocked a high-waisted leather skirt.

Each of the girls who appeared in the show was given a slick of dark red lipstick, while their eyes and skin were left natural. The middle parting gave a formal feel and some wore sunglasses during their turn to show off the new collection.

Ian previously described his Pre-Autumn 14 offering as "functional, but at the same time desirable" and it seems his Autumn/Winter 14 collection had a similar feel to it, but more suited for the colder weather.
