Maxwell and Cummins make PM's XI

Glenn Maxwell and Pat Cummins have been named in the PM's XI to play against England.

World Cup hopefuls Glenn Maxwell and Pat Cummins have been included in the Prime Minister's XI to play England ahead of the one-day international tri-series.

Out-of-form Maxwell and young paceman Cummins will get a chance to impress in the January 14 one-day clash at Canberra's Manuka Oval, two days before the opening ODI tri-series clash between Australia and England at the SCG.

Both international players will be hoping to feature in the tri-series, also involving India, which leads toward the World Cup starting in mid-February.

Retired international Mike Hussey captains the PM's XI, which has a strong Western Australia influence.

Hussey is joined by four players from the western Warriors squad: fast bowling prospects Jason Behrendorff and Simon Mackin, and batsmen Cameron Bancroft and David Moody - nephew of former Australia allrounder Tom Moody.

Teenage NSW bataman Jake Doran will double as wicketkeeper in a team that also features 22-year-old Papua New Guinea batsman Lega Siaka.

Siaka, who is BBL-contracted to the Melbourne Renegades, scored a century for PNG in their first ever ODI series in November when they defeated Hong Kong.

Prime Ministers XI: Mike Hussey (capt), Cameron Bancroft (WA), Jason Behrendorff (WA), Matt Condon (ACT), Pat Cummins (NSW), Jake Doran (NSW), Peter Handscomb (Vic), Simon Mackin (WA), Glenn Maxwell (Vic), David Moody (WA), Lega Siaka (PNG).
