McCaw out for Hurricanes clash

All Blacks skipper Richie McCaw will miss the Crusaders' Super Rugby match against competition leaders the Hurricanes after a head knock.

All Blacks champion Richie McCaw has been ruled out of Saturday's clash with the Super Rugby table-topping Hurricanes in Wellington.

McCaw will miss the game due to a head knock suffered in the Crusaders' 29-15 win over the Blues last with Matt Todd starting at No.7 in one of two changes to the run-on side.

Halfback Andy Ellis steps back into the starting line-up with Mitchell Drummond moving to the reserves, and Luke Whitelock coming onto the bench as loose forward cover.

The game will mark an impressive milestone for prop Wyatt Crockett, as he brings up his 150th game for the Crusaders.

Blackadder said the team would be keen to make the game one to remember.

"This is a remarkable achievement for any player and Crocky deserves every accolade he gets on this special occasion - he's the ultimate team man and a true Crusaders legend."

Crusaders: Tom Taylor, David Havili, Ryan Crotty, Dan Carter, Nemani Nadolo, Colin Slade, Andy Ellis, Kieran Read (captain), Matt Todd, Jordan Taufua, Sam Whitelock, Luke Romano, Owen Franks, Codie Taylor, Wyatt Crockett. Res: Ben Funnell, Joe Moody, Nepo Laulala, Jimmy Tupou, Luke Whitelock, Mitchell Drummond, Kieron Fonotia, Nafi Tuitavake.
