Meares heads to court as wedding looms

James Packer's ex-wife Jodhi Meares is heading to court in August on drink-driving charges, a month before her reported wedding to rocker Jon Stevens.

Jodhi Meares' wedding plans have been thrown into chaos with the former bikini model possibly facing jail for drink driving.

The first wife of billionaire James Packer will face court in August on high range drink-driving charges after crashing into three parked cars in Sydney's eastern suburbs.

Meares had to be rescued from her Range Rover, which rolled after the smash in the upmarket Sydney suburb of Bellevue Hill on Saturday night. She was not injured, a friend says.

Police said a 43-year-old woman recorded a 0.181 blood alcohol reading, almost four times the legal limit.

Meares, who is engaged to rocker Jon Stevens, faces up to 18 months jail and a fine of $3300 if convicted.

Police confirmed a Potts Point woman was charged with high-range drink driving and driving while on a suspended licence.

She is due to appear at Waverley Local Court on August 5.

After announcing their engagement in July, Meares and Stevens were reportedly planning to tie the knot in September.

Since her two-year marriage to Packer ended in 2002, Meares has kept her private life out of the spotlight.

The fitness fanatic shares her time between her fiance's home in Bronte and her Point Piper unit, which she has been trying to sell for about $2 million for the past year.

The couple also share a home in Hawaii, as Meares works to launch her latest label in the US.

Stevens, 52, was reportedly with Meares on Monday morning at her unit, according to the Seven Network.

"She made a mistake. She made an error of judgment," a male friend told Seven.

Meares was behind the successful swimwear brand TigerLily, which she sold to surfwear multinational Billabong in 2007 for between $3 million and $5 million.

She has since founded the luxe sportswear brand, The Upside, which she runs from Surry Hills.

Former Noiseworks and INXS frontman Stevens is the lead singer of the Dead Daisies.

Meares's accident was not far from where AFL superstar Lance Franklin crashed his girlfriend's Jeep into four parked cars in April.
