Meares wins another Oceania cycling title

Australian track cycling legend Anna Meares has claimed her third title on the final night of the Oceania championships in the NZ city of Invercargill.

Australia dominated the final night of the Oceania track cycling championships in Invercargill on Friday, with Anna Meares winning her third title.

The Olympic gold medallist and 10-time world champion won all her elimination rounds of the women's sprint without blemish and accounted for compatriot Stephanie Morton in the final.

Meares collected the 500m time trial and keirin titles earlier in the week.

In the women's omnium, it was the turn of Australia's Olympic bronze medallist Annette Edmondson to complete a perfect record, taking out all six disciplines to finish ahead of New Zealander Jaime Nielsen.

Australian Matthew Glaetzer won the trans-Tasman battle in the men's sprint final, pipping Kiwi Eddie Dawkins by 0.003sec in the deciding third race.

Victory in the men's omnium went to Australian Luke Davison, with NZ's world champion Aaron Gate the runner-up.
