Melanie Brown lands US sitcom role

Mel B's year is looking busier than ever after the breakfast radio host was confirmed to appear in a US TV sitcom opposite Rob Lowe.

Former Spice Girl and Australian radio and television personality Melanie Brown has been cast opposite Rob Lowe in the upcoming US comedy TV show The Pro.

Brown, who makes up one-fourth of the 2Day FM breakfast team, will appear alongside Lowe, who stars as a professional tennis player in the comedy.

It is not yet known what role Brown will play in the show.

Lowe confirmed the news via Twitter over the weekend writing: "It's a casting avalanche! Spice Girl Mel B joins us on The Pro."

Brown has also signed up as a judge on US reality TV show America's Got Talent, which kicks off in May. In addition, she will appear as a coach on the Nine Network's The Voice Kids Australia later in 2014.
