Melb men face court over high speed crash

Two Melbourne men have appeared in court charged over a high speed crash in which two people were injured.

A pair of suspected street racers charged over seriously injuring two people in a high speed Melbourne crash have faced court.

Brodie James McGregor and Adam Phillip West have been charged over a crash in which two cars ran off the road and struck a concrete pole in Lynbrook.

The June 5 collision badly injured a man and woman, who were both hospitalised.

The man has since been released, but the woman remains in the Alfred Hospital.

The two men, both 18, were charged with reckless conduct endangering life, negligent driving causing serious injury, dangerous driving causing serious injury and driving at a dangerous speed causing serious injury.

West, of Cranbourne, and McGregor, of Lynbrook, both on bail, appeared briefly in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday.

They will reappear for a committal mention on September 18.
