Melb toddler bitten in dog attack

A toddler is in hospital after being bitten several times on the face by a dog in Woori Yallock, east of Melbourne.

A toddler has been bitten several times on the face and head by a dog near Melbourne.

The boy was taken to the Royal Children's Hospital in a stable condition after being attacked at his Woori Yallock home just before 12pm on Monday, Ambulance Victoria says.

Yarra Ranges Council told AAP it impounded the dog at the request of the owner, who is believed to be a friend of the toddler's family.
