Melbourne driver pulled over with joint

A Melbourne driver was smoking a joint when he was stopped for a random breath test during a long weekend police blitz.

A driver who was smoking a joint when he was stopped for a random breath test is among several reckless drivers busted in the long weekend police blitz on Melbourne's roads.

The 40-year-old man was puffing on the joint when pulled over for a breath test in Keilor on Saturday afternoon, police say.

Cannabis was found in the car and police will charge him with drug driving.

Another driver returned a blood alcohol level more than four times the legal limit after ploughing into a stationary car in Dandenong, in Melbourne's southeast, on Saturday night.

The 36-year-old man registered a blood alcohol reading of 0.213.

Police caught another driver just hours later when he ran a red light while weaving in and out of traffic and veering onto the wrong side of the road in St Kilda, south of Melbourne's CBD.

The 25-year-old Hoppers Crossing man was drunk, unlicensed and driving an unregistered car, police say.
