After conquering Manhattan, Melbourne-based womenswear label Nicholas is setting its sights on more of the world's fashion capitals.
The label, founded six years ago by designer Irene Nicholas, has gained traction in the US with major department stores Saks, Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdales all stocking the brand.
Now it has hired KPMG Corporate Finance to help it find an equity partner to fire up its domestic and international expansion plans.
The women's clothing range is designed and made in Melbourne using luxury fabrics from Japan and Italy.
Ms Nicholas said the business had grown quickly and she expected 80 per cent of sales will come from the US in the 2016 financial year.
"And a new global distribution agreement with a US distributor is about to be signed which will really extend the brand to new customers," she said.
She said total revenues have increased five fold since the label's inception, despite little marketing.
The brand's head of design is Ben Pollitt, who won kudos in 2008 after winning the Qantas Spirit of Youth Award for fashion.
KPMG Corporate Finance partner Luke Lawrentschuk said he expected a high level of interest, particularly from US investors given the traction the brand has already attained there.
"Nicholas has continued to grow sales and deliver strong financial results for its owners - it's a ray of light in what has been a challenging retail market but evidence that quality labels and brands can find customers quickly around the world," he said.
