Melbourne hipster beard thief at large

A burglar wearing a fake bushranger-style beard has been targeting industrial sites in outer Melbourne.

A thief who has been disguising himself with glasses and a fake bushranger-style beard has been targeting industrial sites in outer Melbourne.

The man damaged security cameras during burglaries at three industrial lots in Somerville and Carrum Downs, from May to August, police say.

Police have released an image of the man wearing a cap, glasses and a fake beard covering most of his face, and also a photo where he was not yet wearing his disguise.

"The bearded burglar has had a few close shaves and was captured on CCTV at three separate industrial areas where CCTV cameras were damaged," Victoria Police also said in a statement.

The man is caucasian, clean-shaven and aged 18 to 25 years.
