Environmentalists say more urban forests in Australia could help create livable and climate resilient cities and towns.
The City of Melbourne has released Australia's first comprehensive guide to growing and maintaining tree populations in urban areas.
It has set itself a target to plant three thousand trees every year before 2020 to help combat climate change.
City Councillor Arron Wood has told Michael Kenny, the council is hoping to set a benchmark for other cities to follow around the globe.
