Menacing letters sent to WA Liberals

Identical threatening letters have been sent to the homes of three WA Liberal candidates and are being investigated by police.

Menacing letters have been sent to the homes of three West Australian Liberal candidates, just days from the state election.

The identical letters say "this is a warning to both you and your family, you stuffed up my life and my business through your partys' behaviour

"So now every time you hear a bang or you think someone is watching you, it will be us. Women and children we will get them."

Liberal candidate for Hillarys Peter Katsambanis told the ABC he received one of the letters on Thursday, labelling it "despicable".

A Liberal party spokesman told AAP another candidate in the lower house and one in the upper house received the letters.

He said he expected more candidates would find letters when they returned home, and said nothing of such a threatening nature had happened during previous campaigns.

The letters have been reported to the police dignitary protection unit.
