Mal Meninga will coach Queensland for at least three more years after penning a contract extension with the Maroons.

The deal, announced at the unveiling of Queensland's team for next week's State of Origin opener, ends any chance of Meninga succeeding Tim Sheens as Kangaroos coach.

Meninga will now be at the helm of the Maroons until the end of the 2018 Origin campaign.
