High winds have forced organisers to call a lay day at the men's Margaret River Pro, which will now probably be completed on Friday.

"The wind has really hit with some force," said WSL commissioner Kieren Perrow.

"It's really ruined things here today, which is unfortunate because we've got a decent swell."

Australian Taj Burrow will take on Brazil's Adriano de Souza in one semi-final, while the other semi is between American Nat Young and Hawaii's John John Florence.

The semis and final of the third leg of the WSL tour are likely to be contested in good conditions on Friday.
