Mental health app for Melbourne firies

A new app is being rolled out to help Melbourne firefighters assess their mental health.

Melbourne firefighters will be able to track their mental health using an app to be rolled out to emergency services personnel across Victoria.

The Let Me Know app allows users to assess their exposure to stress, with an alert system designed to prompt someone to seek support once a trigger point is hit.

The app will initially be available for those working for the Metropolitan Fire Brigade before being rolled out to the Country Fire Authority and other emergency services.

"With this app, we can't to catch the people that don't put their hands up," firefighter Nathaniel O'Brien said in a statement on Tuesday,

The CFA's deputy chief officer Gavin Freeman said it was important firefighters knew it was "OK to not feel OK".
