Mercedes Corby sues AFP

Mercedes Corby is suing the AFP after it raided Seven West Media offices looking for proof of a deal to pay her sister Schapelle for an interview.

Mercedes Corby is suing the Australian Federal Police following their raids on Seven West Media to find proof of a deal to pay her convicted drug-smuggler sister for an interview.

A directions hearing is scheduled in the Federal Court in Sydney on Thursday afternoon after lawyers for Mercedes Corby lodged an application against the AFP Commissioner this week.

Also listed for directions before Justice Jayne Jagot on Thursday afternoon is Seven West Media's legal action against the AFP.

The AFP raided Seven's offices in Sydney last week in relation to the network's intention to conduct a paid interview with Schapelle Corby.

On Tuesday, Seven started action in the Federal Court to "review and set aside the decision ... to issue search warrants" and have the material seized by the AFP returned.

Schapelle Corby was released on parole in Bali on February 10 but Indonesian authorities say she should not do an interview with the media.
