In-demand St George Illawarra forward Trent Merrin has reportedly already made the decision that the upcoming NRL season will be his last at the Dragons.

Off contract at the end of 2015, the Dragons are believed to have offered the NSW representative an $1.8 million, three-year deal to re-sign with the club.

But according to Merrin's agent, Wayne Beavis, the 25-year-old Wollongong-born Merrin won't be in the Red V beyond this season.

"100 per cent, it's over," Beavis told Fairfax Media on Tuesday.

"He won't be at the Dragons next year."

Penrith, Cronulla and the Warriors are believed to be in the hunt for Merrin's signature and he's ready to make a decision on his new club when he returns early next week from the World Club Series in England.

Merrin is regarded as one of the best young forwards in the game and has played over 100 games for St George Illawarra since his debut in 2009.
