Liam Messam is relaxed about his chances of being selected for the All Blacks' 2015 World Cup campaign.
The 31-year-old was dropped four years ago when New Zealand hosted and won the tournament, replaced by rivals Jerome Kaino and Victor Vito.
The same trio are all vying again for inclusion in the squad to go to England next month.
However, Messam shows no concerns as he prepares to put on the Waikato jersey for the 85th time this Saturday when they clash with Manawatu for an NPC game in Palmerston North.
"I've just got to go out there and enjoy my footie," he told NZ Newswire.
"I know there is a lot of talk and rumours about selection. But hopefully I have done what I needed to do during the whole year and not left it down to this one game for Waikato."
The blindside flanker doesn't believe his involvement in last weekend's brawl between the All Blacks and Australia is going to affect his chances of selection either.
Messam, who was a water boy, ran on the field following an altercation between Ma'a Nonu and Stephen Moore.
SANZAR issued All Blacks' team management with a breach notice following the incident resulting in a $2000 fine.
"I think Ma'a Nonu's going to put some money in because he is going to Toulon," Messam quipped.
"They have got all the cash over there in Europe so he's going to pay my fine for me."
Messam who has also been linked to playing a season in Japan reportedly with Toshiba after the World Cup has admitted his plans may have to change now he is committed to the All Blacks Sevens for next year's world series and Rio Olympics.
"Maybe I'll still go there but we will see what happens. Right now I'm just focusing on the World Cup."
