Metcash CEO to step down in 2018

Food and grocery wholesaler Metcash's CEO Ian Morrice will step down from the role in 2018 after five years as company head.

Ian Morrice, the chief executive of food and grocery wholesaler Metcash will retire from his role in 2018.

Mr Morrice has been on the company's board since June 2012, and was appointed group chief executive in June 2013.

The company did not disclose a reason but said Mr Morrice had advised earlier that he was considering retiring at the end of five years in the role.
