Miami Dolphins player Reshad Jones was slapped with a four-game suspension Friday for violating the National Football League's policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

Jones will be eligible to return to Miami's roster on September 29 following the team's game the day before against the Oakland Raiders.

The league did not release any details on the type of drug involved. Jones is eligible to participate in all preseason practices and games.

Jones started 16 games for Miami last season, recording 84 tackles, 1 1/2 sacks and one interception.

In four seasons with the Dolphins, he has played in 60 games (46 starts) and has 224 tackles, 5 1/2 sacks and seven interceptions.
