Michelle Levy's dad on assault charge

The father of a runaway Bondi schoolgirl will front court next month charged with an earlier unrelated assault of a young male.

The father of an 11-year-old Sydney girl who ran away from home and was found being looked after by a stranger will appear in court next month charged with assaulting a young male.

Adam Levy says his daughter Michelle stormed out of her North Bondi home at about 6.30pm on Saturday following an argument over a minor matter with her family, sparking an extensive search.

Michelle met an unidentified 54-year-old man and spent two days living with him in his Randwick flat before being reunited with her family on Monday morning.

The 54-year-old was released without charge on Monday night.

Mr Levy, 40, is due to face a Sydney court next month on an unrelated assault charge.

NSW Police have confirmed they charged a 40-year-old man with common assault earlier this month in relation to an incident with a male.

He is due to appear at Waverley Local Court on November 20.
