Million-dollar drug bust in Tasmania

A crackdown on ice in Tasmania has netted $1 million worth of the drug.

Police have seized drugs valued at more than $1 million and six people have been charged following a major bust in Tasmania's north.

Methamphetamine valued at $700,000, ecstasy worth $380,000 and a small quantity of LSD have been uncovered during the three-month Operation Crimson.

Police also seized two firearms.

A 25-year-old man, Caine Robert Richardson, has appeared in court on 12 charges, including aggravated assault, possession of a firearm and trafficking in a controlled substance.

Christine Vernessa Watson, 21, has appeared on seven charges.

The other four were due to appear in court at a later date.
