Greens Leader Christine Milne is worried that Anzac Day is turning into a celebration rather than honouring the dead.

She's expressed her concerns as events marking the centenary of the Anzac landings at Gallipoli wind up around the world.

"In some circles it has morphed from a commemoration and respectful honouring of the dead and horror of what went on and understanding a sacrifice to switching over into a half celebration kind of event," she told Sky News on Sunday.
