Unlucky-in-love pop star Kylie Minogue has confessed her crippling work schedule was a major factor behind her split from Spanish model Andres Velencoso.

Minogue and Velencoso parted ways in 2013 after five years together.

Now the Australian star has spoken out to confirm her career was a big reason for the split, but insists there were other issues to blame as well.

Minogue tells Britain's Style magazine, "Work was definitely an aspect of it, but it wasn't just that. I had a great number of years with him, and he's a really good, good guy.

"I hate being boxed in. In tight clothes, tight relationships. I need to feel free in my mind. Not to go anywhere, because I'm a serial monogamist, but put a little box around me and I'll be like a wild horse," Minogue said.

The singer, 45, has never married or had children but has left a string of failed relationships in her wake, including with the late INXS rocker Michael Hutchence, French actor Olivier Martinez, and fellow Australian star Jason Donovan.
