Missing bushwalker's body found in NSW

The 10-day search for Damien Roadley has come to a tragic end after his body was found by searchers.

The search for Damien Roadley, who went missing in bushland in northern NSW 10 days ago, has come to an end as emergency services have found his body.

The 38-year-old had not been seen since he reported an out-of-control campfire with his mobile phone on August 1 from Blue Knob Mountain near Nimbin.

Family members reported Mr Roadley missing when he failed to return home on August 2.

The body is yet to be formally identified, but NSW Police say it is believed to be that of Mr Roadley.

The bushland search operation involved police, the dog unit, police rescue unit, the SES, Rural Fire Service, the Westpac helicopter, the Volunteer Rescue Association and the Queensland police dog squad.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
