Missing man likely murdered: police

A Launceston man missing for almost two years has likely been murdered, say police as they offer a $50,000 reward for information.

Police believe a Tasmanian man listed missing for two years has been murdered as they offer a $50,000 reward for information.

Christopher Watkins, 28, was last seen on August 7, 2013 at a Launceston address and despite extensive inquiries, his whereabouts remain a mystery.

Inspector John King said investigators now strongly suspect he has been killed.

"We believe that it is likely that there was more than one person involved in committing and/or covering up this crime," he said on Friday.
