An 11-year-old boy who went missing from a western Sydney park, sparking a large-scale search, has been found safe and well.

Kiet Tran was last seen at Cabravale Memorial Park in Cabramatta about 4pm on Thursday, when he told his siblings he was going home.

NSW Police were later called when relatives couldn't contact or find Kiet, with investigators saying his disappearance was "out of character".

On Friday morning there was good news.

"A large search has been conducted and a short time ago the boy was located at a home in Cecil Hills," a police spokesperson said in a statement, adding Kiet was "safe and well".
