A 12-year-old girl who went missing from her home in Sydney's southwest has turned up safe and well.

Fatima Al-Shara's mother reported her missing from their home at Berala on Wednesday evening.

A police search was launched amid concerns for the girl's safety because of her age.

Police said on Friday that at about 11pm (AEDT) on Thursday Fatima went to Auburn Police Station and she was safe and well.

She has been reunited with her family.
