Footage has emerged showing the missing UK teenagers - Shamima Begum and Amira Abas, 15, and Kadiza Sultana, 16 - at a bus station in Istanbul.

The school girls are believed to be en route to join Islamic State group fighters in Syria after flying from London to Istanbul on 17 February.

The CCTV footage shows the three teenagers waiting at Bayrampasa bus station later that same day and the following morning, according to the BBC.

The BBC is reporting the girls waited at the bus station for around 18 hours before taking a bus to Urfa near the border with Syria.

The three friends all go to the Bethnal Green Academy school, are described as "straight-A students" and are good friends with another 15-year-old girl who fled to Syria in December.
They flew to Turkish city Istanbul from Gatwick Airport on Tuesday without leaving any messages behind and their families have urged their return.
