Gerard Baden-Clay's mistress says she once loved him unconditionally, but not anymore.

Baden-Clay will spend a minimum of 15 years behind bars after being found guilty of murdering his wife Allison more than two years ago.

His trial heard he had promised his mistress Toni McHugh he'd be separated by July 1 that year.

Ms McHugh, speaking for the first time since giving evidence at his trial, said she had loved Baden-Clay "very much".

"I don't like to use that word unconditional anymore," she told the Nine Network.

"But I did love him unconditionally and I was very forgiving, too forgiving."

Ms McHugh said she believed she was in a loving, caring relationship and one day they would marry.

"I just thought it would be a normal future, I thought it would be two people that loved each other.

"He had told me that he would marry me one day."
