Mixed results for Australia's NBA stars

Utah's Joe Ingles and Philadelphia's Ben Simmons could not help their NBA sides avoid defeat while Matthew Dellavedova and Thon Maker won with Milwaukee.

Australia's NBA contingent made no significant impact on the stats sheets on Monday night with Milwaukee's Matthew Dellavedova and Thon Maker tasting victory while the respective teams of Ben Simmons and Joe Ingles lost.

Dennis Schroder scored 20 points while Taurean Prince added 17 as the Atlanta Hawks continued their revival with a 104-90 victory over the Utah Jazz.

Australian star Ingles enjoyed 28 minutes of game time for the Jazz but it was to no avail as the Hawks closed with a 13-3 run for a 74-63 lead in the third quarter to set up victory.

Ingles had eight points, two rebounds and three assists.

Simmons had a relatively quiet game by his standards with just six points, three rebounds and seven assists as the Philadelphia 76ers were upset 105-101 by the Memphis Grizzlies.

Marc Gasol (19) and Tyreke Evans (18) led the Grizzlies in scoring while Philadelphia's Dario Saric led al scorers with 22.

Khris Middleton scored 35 points, including two long jumpers in the final minute and Malcolm Brogdon added 32 points as the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Phoenix Suns 109-105, hours after firing coach Jason Kidd.

Dellavedova played 25 minutes for three rebounds and six assists while Maker had three points and a rebound in limited minutes.

James Harden had 28 points as the Houston Rockets overcame a big early deficit to beat the Miami Heat 99-90.

Andrew Wiggins scored a season-high 40 points and the Minnesota Timberwolves hung on to beat the Los Angeles Clippers 126-118.

Blake Griffin had a triple-double with 32 points, 12 rebounds and a career-high 12 assists for the beaten Clippers.

DeMarcus Cousins had 44 points, 24 rebounds and 10 assists while Anthony Davis scored 34 points as the All-Star pair led the New Orleans Pelicans to a 132-128 victory over the the Chicago Bulls in double overtime.

Charlotte Hornets beat the Sacramento Kings 112-107, the Dallas Mavericks overwhelmed the Washington Wizards 98-75 and the Denver Nuggets scored a 104-101 win over the Portland Trail Blazers.
