Sydney Roosters prop Sam Moa will contest a contrary conduct charge at the NRL judiciary on Thursday night in a bid to be available to face St George-Illawarra on Monday night.
Moa was on Monday charged by the match review committee after making contact with referee Gavin Reynolds in the fourth minute of Saturday's win over the Warriors in Auckland.
The 29-year-old New Zealand international appeared to place his hands on Reynolds' shoulders following his try being disallowed.
Even with an early guilty plea, Moa was facing a one-match suspension due to carry-over points, so the Roosters will be hoping to beat the charge at the judiciary so Moa can line up against the Dragons.
