England are upbeat allrounder Moeen Ali will be fit enough to feature in the second Ashes Test.
Ali batted in the nets on Wednesday, but is yet to bowl this week due to what captain Alastair Cook termed "a bit of a sore stomach".
Cook noted team medical staff have taken a precautionary approach to Ali, but he should be right to go on Thursday when the Lord's clash starts.
"He's pulled up a bit stiff from the first game, but hopefully he'll be alright," Cook said.
"He's pretty good.
"We'll make the final call tomorrow."
Ali was one of England's star performers in the first Test, scoring 77 in the first dig and taking five wickets in the match.
That included the crucial scalp of David Warner prior to lunch on day four, which started a collapse of 4-9 as England charged toward a 169-run victory.
Ali missed the start of England's tour of West Indies due to a side strain, but Cook said his recent setback was not a recurrence of the injury.
Legspinner Adil Rashid would make his Test debut this week if Ali is unavailable.
