Molder leads storm-hit Texas tournament

American Bryce Molder had a one-stroke lead when the second round of the US PGA Tour event in Texas was suspended due to poor light.

Bryce Molder had a one-stroke lead with three holes to play on Friday in the second round of the US PGA Tour event in Texas when play was suspended because of darkness.

The start of the round was delayed five-and-a-half hours after thunderstorms overnight that lingered into the morning. When the first groups teed off early in the afternoon, the sky was clearing and became bright and sunny.

At nine-under, Molder was a stroke ahead of Webb Simpson and two in front of world No.2 Jordan Spieth, who both completed their second rounds at Colonial Country Club in Forth Worth.

Simpson shot a 67 and Spieth a 66 with four birdies in five holes after turning to the front nine.

Molder was the first-round leader after an opening 64 with six birdies on the front nine at Hogan's Alley. He had five more birdies on that side on Friday.

Of the Australians, Marc Leishman is at three-under in a tie for 17th having completed eight holes while Steven Bowditch is at the same score after completing his round of 68.

Aaron Baddeley is at one-over after 12 holes, Adam Scott is at two-over after nine, Matt Jones is at three-over after 11, John Senden three-over after 10 and Geoff Ogilvy missed the cut with a dismal 77 to finish at nine-over.
