Momentum keeps swinging in Ashes

It's been incredibly hard to get a read on Australia and England's form in the Ashes, with all three Tests being one-sided affairs.

UNPREDICTABLE TURNS IN STRUGGLE FOR THE URN:

Day one of first Test, Cardiff

*England crumble to 3-43 when Brad Haddin offers Joe Root a life on zero. Root went on to score 134

Day three of first Test, Cardiff

*Australia resume at 5-264. The tail fails to wag and Shane Watson flops as England take a first-innings lead of 122 runs en route to a 169-run win

Day two of second Test, Lord's

*England's momentum hits a brick wall in the form of Steve Smith and Chris Rogers, who share a record 284-run stand. Australia posts a first-innings total of 566

Day four of second Test, Lord's

*England are skittled for just 103 in their second innings. Australia square the series with a 405-run win and the hosts look every part a team in crisis

Day one of third Test, Edgbaston

*Cock-a-hoop Australia are rolled for 136, with Chris Rogers the only batsman to pass 16 as Jimmy Anderson swings the series England's way

Day two of third Test, Edgbaston

*England reduced to 5-142 after a couple of Mitchell Johnson thunderbolts, but they power ahead to a total of 281. Australia collapse again, but Anderson's side strain adds another twist in the tale
