Reigning world surfing champion Carissa Moore has set up a headline quarter-final against Stephanie Gilmore at the women's Rio Pro.
Hawaiian Moore, who won her third world crown in the space of four years in 2015, ousted Australian injury replacement Bronte Macaulay in the fourth round on Sunday.
Macaulay made a fast start, but Moore finished the stronger to win 11.84 points to 10.93.
"I was a little nervous because the conditions were pretty tricky out there, said Moore.
"The waves were pretty short and steep, so when Bronte got her scores right off the bat, I knew I had to get moving."
Moore will now take on six-time world champ Gilmore in the quarters.
Frenchwoman Johanne Defay downed Australian Laura Enever 8.70 points to 6.53 in the only other fourth-round heat completed before surfing was abandoned for the day in deteriorating conditions.
Defay's quarter-final opponent will be Australian Tyler Wright, a last-start winner at Margaret River.
