More doping allegations against Kenya

WADA is concerned by further allegations of drug use in Kenya.

The World Anti-Doping Agency says it is concerned by more allegations of drug use in Kenya, made this time in a documentary aired by one of the country's television stations.

WADA director general David Howman says in a statement that Citizen Television's documentary "Poisoned Spikes" corroborates and "adds to" many of the findings of a 2012 German TV program that initially uncovered doping problems in Kenya.

Among its allegations, the new documentary purportedly shows a man posing as an athlete being offered an injection of the blood booster EPO in a drug store for around $100.

The man offering the injection says "this is what we do almost every day."

Howman said WADA officials had viewed the documentary and the allegations were "a concern to WADA and the broader anti-doping community."
