More girls charged over Qld school fight

Two more girls have been charged over the bashing of a girl in the central Queensland city of Rockhampton.

Two more girls have been charged over the bashing of a Queensland schoolgirl as a video of two teenage boys fighting in the same city has surfaced.

A video of the 14-year-old girl being punched repeatedly in a tunnel near a Rockhampton school was posted online on Tuesday.

The assault sparked condemnation from Education Minister John Paul-Langbroek, who announced a crackdown on "abhorrent" videos of school fights being posted online.

Another girl, also 14, was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, stalking and common assault.

Police on Thursday charged two more girls, aged 13 and 15, with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm.

Officers are yet to take action after a film of another fight, between two teenage boys, emerged on Thursday.

The video shows the boys circling before punching each other in the head and kicking each other in a change room somewhere in Rockhampton.

It was first posted on YouTube on January 16 and is edited with music.

Police said they were unable to comment on the second film because they had not received any complaint about it.

Police Commissioner Ian Stewart said police would use whatever evidence was available, including online videos, to arrest violent offenders.

"Violence of any sort is unacceptable in this community, whether it's between young people or adults," he said.

Mr Stewart said using social media to harass or intimidate could also be considered an offence.
