Another 10,000 homes and businesses in South Australia have been added to the planned roll-out of the National Broadband Network.

The latest areas to be scheduled for connection include some of Adelaide's western suburbs, Coromandel Valley in the Adelaide Hills and the regional communities of Cowell and Freeling.

"Our job is to help bridge the digital divide by ensuring that all Australians have access to fast broadband as soon and as cost-effectively as possible," Chris Gregory said, adding that work in those areas will begin before the end of December 2016.
